MOMA to home deliver organic cabbage, plum

Imphal, June 12 2021:
As part of the measures initiated by chief minister N Biren to provide market for agricultural produces, a team of Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) on Saturday visited Tungjoi village in Senapati district which is located near the border with Nagaland and procured organically grown cabbage and plum from the villagers.
The fruit consignment has been brought to Imphal and would be made available to public through home delivery service.
Speaking on the sidelines, MOMA project director K Debadutta Sharma informed that a team led by him went to Tungjoi village and from there transported 1.5 metric tonnes of cabbage and 2.5 metric tonnes of plum, which are presently stored at cold storage of Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Sanjenthong for sale to people via home delivery at low cost.
He continued that as per instruction of the CM, MOMA has been ensuring marketing of agriculture produces of the state during the pandemic.
He also appealed to the farmers to sustain their livelihood and commercial activities while assuring that MOMA will buy the goods from them as much as possible so that they reap the fruit of their hard toil in the fields.
Debadutta also assured that MOMA will continue to support farmers interested in organic farming and further appealed to the public to buy the cabbage and plum from Tungjoi village as they have been grown organically and are tastier as well as nutritious.
