Irawat birth anniversary observed

As a part of month-long observance of the 125th birth anniversary of Hijam Irawat, tributes were paid on to his statue installed at Keibi Maningching to commemorate the day when Irawat and his followers reached Myanmar on this day in 1948.CPI Manipur State Council assistant secretary M Joykumar informed that apart from the Keibi event organised by Khundrakpam Local CPI Council and participated by CPI leaders including Moirangningthou, L Sotinkumar, RK Amusana Singh and Local Council secretary Bhogen Singh attended as presidium members, a similar programme was held at Langthabal Mantrikhong organised by Langthabal Local Council CPI during which floral tributes were paid to the late leader for all his sacrifices and is contribution made for the society.
Addressing the gathering, Manipur Loumee Lup president N Singhajit, who was special guest, said that BJP with the introduction of three anti-people farm laws is already trying to destroy the country.
Meanwhile, CPI Lamsang Local observed the day at Mayanglangjing Community Hall while Irawat Celebration Committee, Thanga and CPI Local Council observed the month-long birth anniversary on Friday at Moirang Khunou.
