AR distributes essential goods, sports items

Imphal, August 11 2021: Maram Battalion of Jwalamukhi sector/IGAR (E) distributed ration, grocery and essential items to widows in Rai Basti village on Wednesday.

According to an AR statement, officiating commandant of the battalion interacted with the widows and gave a strong message to stay strong and assured them of all the help in these trying and testing times of Covid-19.A total of 27 widows in the area were benefited from the act of Assam Rifles.

The village authorities expressed gratitude towards the act of kindness and thanked the efforts of Assam Rifles, It added.

Maram Battalion also organised a friendly volleyball match at T Khullen and distributed sports items.

A total of four teams from Paomata Centre, Tungam Khullen and Makhuni villages participated in the event.

Volleyball, footballs and other sports items were also distributed to the local youths of Tungam Khullen, Makhuni and Paomata Centre.

During the hard times of Covid-19 and continuous lockdown in the area, many village authorities, youths approached Assam Rifles to provide essential sports kits & items.

Consequently, the company commander carried out the distribution and ever apprised the locals about distribution of ration, medicines, masks and sanitisers in other needy villages.

He also assured that the battalion will strive to maintain peace and harmony in the area, added another release of the battalion.
