Drugs worth over ₹ 2 cr seized

Imphal, April 10 2022: Narcotics Cell Team 'B' of Tengnoupal police station led by SI Ashem Biren Singh on Sunday arrested two drug peddlers with 1.082 kg of brown sugar valued around Rs 2,16,40,000 .

The arrested peddlers have been identified as K Samuel (22) son of Thanglam of Tuibong in Churachandpur and Nianghoihsiam (22) daughter of Kapginthang of New Zouveng in Churachandpur.

The team arrested the duo while coming in a Bolero around 4 pm and recovered 25 cases of brown sugar.

An FIR has been registered in this regard and cash reward also handed over to the team.

This is the 11th seizure of drugs by Tengnoupal district police since March 25, 2022 and the approximate value of total seizure till date is Rs 54.81 crore, it added.
