Imphal, January 09 2025:
Lamphel Sanakeithel Development Authority (LSKDA) general secretary Hijam Nabakanta announced social boycott of Uripok MLA Kh Raghumani by the people of Lamphel Sanakeithel, and added that he will not be allowed to enter the area.
Addressing a press meet at Manipur Press Club jointly held by ISDA, Lamphel Sanakeithel Nupi Kanglup and Awa Tengbang Lup on Thursday, H Nabakanta stated that the decision was arrived in a public meeting.
Recently, the house of the Uripok MLA was vandalised during the mass protest of November 16 last year.
In regard to the incident, MLA Raghumani filed a complaint against LSDA vice-president David Khumukcha at Imphal police station alleging his involvement, he added.
Condemning the summon sent to David in connection to the case, on January 6, Nabakanta informed that a public meeting was held on January 7, which resolved to appeal to the Uripok MLA, Uripok Apunba Lup, Nupi Lup and COCOMI for withdrawing the complaint.
It was also decided that if the MLA does not take back the complaint by January 8, the residents of Lamphel Sanakeithel will socially boycott the MLA, he informed.
Nabakanta further said that as the MLA has not withdrawn the complaint, the social boycott will be enforced by the Lamphel Sanakeithel residents.
