Imphal, December 07 2024:
Highlighting that doctors had stopped night duty at Phayeng Primary Health Centre (PHC) due to improper fencing and non-deployment of security at night, a joint public meeting at PHC complex on Saturday cautioned of launching intense protest if government fails to address the issue at the earliest.
The public meeting was jointly organised by Phayeng Apunba Semgat Sagat Lup, Peace and Protection Committee and Phayeng Apunba Nupi Lup.
During the meeting, it was informed that the night duty of doctors had stopped from December 2 as there was no night-time security and improper fencing of the health centre complex.
It reminded that the health centre covers several red zone areas including Phayeng, Tairenpokpi, Singda, Kadangband, Koutruk, Lairensajik, Lairenkabi and Sanjenbam.
If the government fails to look into the issues concerning the health centre, the villagers along with the three local organisations will launched intense protest, the meeting cautioned.
