Journalists of Manipur, Nagaland attend DCC-2024

Northern Command army commander Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar felicitated 34 journalists who underwent Defence Correspondents Course (DCC-2024) at HQ Northern Command in Udhampur, Jammu & Kashmir on Saturday.
In a release, PRO Defence conveyed that the course was organised by Directorate of Public Relations, Ministry of Defence as an annual training activity for the journalists.
The DCC-2024 congregated at Karwar oh August 19 for a week-long Navy module followed by the Air Force module at Sulur Air Force Station, Tamil Nadu and reached Jammu, J&K on September 1 for the Army leg.
During the course, 34 selected journalists, representing different parts of the country and variety of mediums, had an opportunity to interact with the senior officers, visit defence establishments and understand the organisation and operational responsibilities, it added.
The release also mentioned that K Premchand Singh and W Chitradhani Devi from Manipur and Jojo Nakro Naga from Nagaland, working with Sudarshan Channel were part of the course.
During the valedictory event, the army commander awarded course certificates to all the participants and emphasised upon the positive, sensible and factual reporting on defence matters, operations and on 'Bravehearts' .
He also stressed on the national security aspects while reporting stories on defence activities along with the important role of journalists in the nation building.
Speaking at the occasion, he said, "The aim of the course was to get journalists from all over the country to give an overview of the functioning of the three wings of the Armed Forces," the release mentioned.
