Imphal, July 07 2022: As part of routine security measures, Imphal West district police conducted search operations in different places and many people verified.

According to a police report, a team of Imphal West commandos carried out search operation in Masjid Road area, along Nambul river, Kakhulong and near Pratap cinema hall of Paona Bazar around 4.40 pm on Thursday.

In all, 87 people who were present in these areas were verified one-by-one, out of which 4 without identification papers were handed over to City PS for further verification.

Meanwhile, another team conducted a search operation at Uripok Polem Leikai and Achom Leikai at around 6.30 pm on Thursday.

Altogether, 55 houses were searched including houses rented by UGs who are but on bail and those belonging to cadres of proscribed outfits.

In all, 130 people were verified during the operation, the report conveyed.
