Imphal, September 06 2024:
Demanding that the state government demonstrate its resolve to end the conflict at the earliest, CPI Manipur State Council organised sit-in protest at Irawat Bhavan, BT road on Thursday.
Speaking on the sidelines of the protest, CPI/MSC assistant secretary demanded both state and central governments to end the conflict by bringing a political solution along with condemning the recent drone bombing by Kuki militants at Koutruk leading to the death of a woman and injuring many others.
Questioning the rationale for turning a blind eye to the unrest situation in the state where drone bombing was carried out by Kuki militants, similar to the Russia-Ukraine war, he lamented that there is no sign of conflict ending regardless of state and central government leaders claiming efforts to restore normalcy.
The protestors held placards inscribed with slogans such as 'Restrain Kuki armed militants', 'End Manipur conflict', and 'Bring political solution without delay' among others.
