Imphal, February 06 2025: The "Mangani Leihul" ritual of KYKL's Meeyamgi Yawol Lanmee (MYL) cadre 'private' Moirangthem Sushil alias Athouba was held at Sugnu in Kakching district on Thursday.

Sushil alias Athouba (21) was the son of M Kiran and Memcha Leima of Sugnu Awang Leikai Ward No 1.He was killed in a gun battle along the Indo-Myanmar border near Kamjong district on January 30 afternoon.

The "Mangani Leihul" ceremony was performed with customary rituals at the Ching Tam community hall located near the Sugnu market.

Prior to the ritual, large number of people took out a procession around the Sugnu market and congregated at the community hall where floral tributes were paid to the photo of the deceased as a mark of respect.

The people also shouted slogans like "Long Live Ningtam Lanmi", "Long Live Manipur", etc.

Kakching district police took up precautionary measures in connection with the ceremony to avoid unwanted incidents.
