Imphal, February 06 2024: Leimarol Khorjeikol (LEIKOL) organised the 102nd birth anniversary observance of Maharajkumari Binodini at its Kwakeithel Moirangpurel office, here, along with offering floral tributes to the late writer's portrait on Tuesday.

LEIKOL former vice-president, Chongtham Subadani presided over the observance function while Bimabati Thiyam spoke on the life and works of MK Binodini on the occasion.

Ch Subadani remembered MK Binodini as a pioneer in literature, especially among women writers apart from establishing LEIKOL in 2001.Despite coming from a royal family, she loved to mingle with the people without any discrimination.

Binodini also contributed significantly in promoting Manipuri literature and women empowerment as well, Subadani recounted.
