TYCM appeals for resumption of normal office operations at TRI office

Imphal, December 05 2024: The Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM), General Headquarters has submitted an appeal to the Director of the Tribal Research Institute (TRI) to address the prolonged non-functioning of the TRI office located at Chingmeirong, Imphal.

As per a press release issued by TYCM-GHQ, the office has remained closed since the onset of ethnic clashes in Manipur on May 3, 2023.Although all other Government offices in the State resumed normal operations at the start of the first month of 2024, the TRI office continues to remain closed, lamented the TYCM-GHQ press note.

It added that the Director and staff of TRI are functioning from the Directorate of Tribal Affairs & Hills, Manipur, which has significantly disrupted TRI's core responsibilities.

Thus, TYCM-GHQ has strongly urged the authorities to address this issue promptly and ensure the resumption of normal office operations at the TRI office in Chingmeirong.

TYCM-GHQ has insisted all staff, including the Director, to fulfill their duties from the designated office to restore trust in the institute's operations and prevent further inconvenience to the tribal communities reliant on their services.
