Guwahati hospital to host patient safety workshop

The 7th North East Patient Safety Workshop will be held on December 6 and 7 at Assam Downtown University, Panikhaiti, Guwahati.
Informing that doctors, nurses, administrators, allied health professionals and students are eligible to attend the workshop, a release issued by Downtown Hospital Downtown Hospital said that the participants will receive certificates and CME/Nursing Credit Points.
The upcoming event seeks to unite healthcare professionals, administrators, and students to address critical aspects of patient safety.
During a press meet, Downtown Hospital medical superintendent Dr Udayan Barua, flanked by executive director Mayurakshi Dutta, deputy medical superintendent Dr Shikha Rani Choudhury and Business Development manager Nikhilesh Sarma, underscored the workshop's significance in enhancing healthcare practices across the North East, as well as empowering healthcare professionals in implementing effective safety protocols, thus improving patient outcomes.
Notably, delegates from Bhutan and Nepal have attended past editions and will participate this year as well.
The pre-conference workshop on December 6 will feature hands-on training sessions and expert-led discussions on topics such as sepsis protocols, pharmacovigilance, critical care drills and simulated safety scenarios.
The main conference on December 7 will bring together eminent speakers, sharing insights on proactive safety management, the implications of missed nursing care, accreditation grading, emergency medicine, mental health, food safety, and sterilization best practices, among other vital topics, the release added.
