Imphal, September 04 2024:
Rilram Area Maring Organisation (RAMO) on Tuesday held its general assembly at Kampang Khullen village in Tengnoupal district during which discussions were held on a wide range of issues including medical inadequacies, deplorable condition of roads, non-completion of water supply projects, underdevelopment of the education sector, and shortage of staff in electricity department in respect of Moreh, Tengnoupal and Machi blocks.
While urging authorities concerned to look into grievances of the people, those present opined that halting developmental projects citing prevailing unrest situation is injustice to people settling in conflict free zones along with expressing resentment that farmers are made to toil in availing KCC loan from bank due to the ongoing strife.
As such many advised the banks concerned to acknowledge that Maring is a Naga tribe which is taking a neutral position in the conflict.
While stating that RAMO will keep a close watch on people engaging in businesses in Eastern Maring area, it cautioned of imposing heavy fines along with handing over the culprits to the Assam Rifles and state force if RAMO special team finds any contraband substances.
