Interaction prog, medical camp held

Mantripukhri of IGAR (South) organised an interaction programme with women society, youth club and village development committee of Urangpat village at village chief s residence in Kangpokpi district on Tuesday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that women society enjoys an influential stature of reverence in Kuki society, particularly in areas with Kuki inhabitants.
The meet focused upon measures to empower youth and women.
It also provided a suitable platform for discussion on various issues being faced by women society, youth and village development committee of Urangpat.
Altogether 27 members of women society, youth club and village development committee enthusiastically participated in the meet.
Meanwhile, Mantripukhri Battalion organised a medical camp at Kharasom village community hall in Imphal East district on Tuesday to bring awareness among the impoverished population of the village, who are deprived of even basic health care services and limited knowledge about the common ailments.
A total of 253 individuals from Kharasom and nearby villages were examined by medical team for various ailments.
The locals appreciated proactive steps of Assam Rifles towards mitigating hardships of the public and maintaining peace in the area, and also requested to organise similar camps regularly so as to make medical care available to them and also promote better relation and bonding between the troops and villagers.
Free medicine and COVID lots were also provided to all during the camp, the PRO added in a release.
