'Lanna Thouram' of eight Jiri victims held

Jiribam, December 02 2024: The 'Lanna Thouram' ritual for the three women and three children, who were brutally murdered after abduction by Kuki militants, as well as the two individuals killed by them in Jakuradhor Karong under Borobekra sub-division in Jiribam, was held on Monday.

People from all walks of life, including representatives of various CSOs and student groups, participated in the ritual ceremony.

They took out a rally in honour of the departed souls.

The rally flagged off from Jiribam Higher Secondary School, proceeded along NH-37 towards Jiribam Keithel and ended at Lairembi Leikai community hall, Babupara, where the "Lanna Thouram" was held.

The rally was organised by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed in connection with killings of the eight individuals.

Participants chanted slogans such as "Kuki Terrorists, Down Down", "Long Live Manipur", and "We Want Justice" .
