Imphal, July 01 2022: Eastern Command GOC-in-command lieutenant general Rana Pratap Kalita along with Spear Corps GOC lieutenant general RC Tiwari visited the field formations and forward areas of Assam Rifles in Manipur on Thursday and Friday.

Informing that during the visit, the Army Commander was briefed in detail by the field commanders about the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness, PRO IGAR (S) said in a release that the General Officer expressed his satisfaction on the security measures and operational preparedness of the Assam Rifles.

He also appreciated the untiring efforts of the forces in difficult and inhospitable conditions and commended them for carrying out people friendly operations.

Earlier, the General Officer visited the Tupul landslide area and oversaw the ongoing rescue operations.

He also interacted with survivors of the landslide incident at Assam Rifles Multispecialty Hospital, Mantripukhri.
