Ukhrul Covid toll reaches 36

Ukhrul, August 30 2021:
A man from Ukhrul district succumbed to Covid-19 at JNIMS hospital, Imphal on Monday morning, after battling the ailment for two weeks.
75-year-old KS Gerhsom breathed his last around 2:18 am at ATC-ICU of the hospital.
Severe Covid-19 Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) accompanied with pneumonia and hypertension has been reported as the cause of his death.
Gerhsom, a resident of Tusom CV, was admitted to the hospital on August 16 last.
He was an advisor of Naga People's Front (NPF), Tusom CV Unit.
With the latest casualty, total death toll due to Covid has reached 36 in the district.
However, daily positivity rate indicates a downward trend in the past few days.
A total of six positive cases each were recorded for two consecutive days on Sunday and Monday.
The total number of active cases in the district currently stands at 130 out of the cumulative positive cases of 1,346 .
A DSO source said that 10 patients were discharged from the district hospital's isolation ward on Monday.
The district has so.
far referred 23 critical cases out of the district hospital during the second wave of the pandemic.
Of the active cases, 45 patients are being lodged at Transit CCC, 25 at the district hospital's isolation ward, 20 at TK Woodland Covid Hospital and three at Ukhrul Higher Secondary School CHIC, the source added.
