Patsoi MLA intensifies fish rearing programme

Imphal, August 28 2022: As part of fish rearing programme initiated by Patsoi MLA Sapam Kunjakeshor (Keba) incoordination with local clubs and organisations to make the constituency self-reliant in fish, fingerlings were released at Khamnam Leirak Pukhri Achouba (community pond) on Sunday.

Addressing the gathering at the fingerlings releasing function organised by Cachar Road Athletic Union (CRAU), MLA Kunjakeshor said that Patsoi AC has 37 large community ponds at different localities and fish rearing programme has been taken up at these ponds under his initiative to produce fish in abundance at-least in the AC.

For the sixth time under the programme, fingerlings were released at Khamnam Leirak Pukhri Achouba on Sunday, he said, adding that fingerlings will be released at the remaining 31 ponds within September/October or in the beginning of next year's rainy season.

While assuring that he will bear financial and other requirements for bringing fin gerlings and rearing the fish, MLA Kunjakeshor appealed to local people and clubs to shoulder responsibility in ensuring survival and protection of fish reared at the local ponds.

He also said that fish rearing programme being taken up in Patsoi AC will be not successful without the help of local people.
