Need to strengthen women of State highlighted

V Shantha Kumari, Pramuk Sanchalika of Rashtra Sevika Samiti has highlighted the need to strengthen the women of the State.
The statement was made by V Shantha Kumari during the grand opening ceremony of Samvardhinee Nyas, Manipur Prant (Ambassador of Women's Evolution) accompanied by a talk on the topic "Sustainable Development for Unemployed Women of Manipur through Small Scale Industries" held at City Convention Centre, Palace Compound today.
The event was organised under the aegis of the Department of Handloom and Textile.
Delivering the speech as the chief guest, V Shantha Kumari stressed on the necessity of strengthening the women community and thereby taking the forefront in nation building.
To achieve this objective, she focused on the need to improve the financial condition of women and infusing them with leadership qualities and added that Samvardhinee Nyas plays a considerable role in their efforts to achieve this end.
She also called for sustainable development stating that development undertakings that will harm future generations should not be encouraged at all.
The Indian Government has taken up several measures with the goal of bringing about sustainable development, she maintained.
The event was attended by Indira Oinam, co-convenor, Samvardhinee Nyas, Manipur Prant; Madhuri Tai Marathe, Akhil Bharatiya Sanghathan Mantri; Dr Rajani Sarin, trustee, Samvardhinee, convenor, North East and Chaya Nanjappa, national president, Association of Business Women for Commerce & Industries as presidium members.
