Covid-19 awareness / vaccination held

Social Development Youth Club (SDYC) along with Health Education Research Society (HERS) jointly conducted an awareness cum Covid-19 mass vaccination programme at Eastern Shine School, Moreh ward no 7 Turel Wangma Meitei Leikai on Thursday.
Speaking to media persons while inspecting the vaccination programme, DC Naorem Praveen informed that more than 20 per cent of the population in Tengnoupal district who are eligible for vaccination have been inoculated so far.
Successful vaccination will be able to save the people from Covid-19 3rd wave.
So, the state aims to vaccinate every individual living in the border villages of Tengnoupal district, he added.
Meanwhile, District Nodal Officer Dr Cecil recalled that Covid vaccination for people above 60 years is being done as people having hypertension and high blood sugar level are more vulnerable when infected by Covid-19 virus.
There is no harm in getting the Covid vaccine by people with high BP and sugar level, and such people above 60 years should get vaccinated without fail, the nodal officer added.
Chief Medical officer Tengnoupal District Dr Lamkhoneng Haokip, District Immunisation Officer Dr Kh Gojen Singh, Moreh ADC K Jadumani Singh, Moreh Police Station OC Kh Dilipkumar Singh, SDO Moreh I Dineshkumar Singh and PHC Moreh MO in-charge Dr Kh Santikumar attended the awareness cum vaccination programme.
Covid-19 vaccination programme will continue at the offices of Tamil Sangam on June 25, Meetei Council on June 26, Gorkha Samaj Samiti on June 27, Manipur Muslim Council on June 28, Hill Tribal Council on June 29 and All Community Development Organisation on June 30 .
