Taekwondo medal winners felicitated

Imphal, January 24 2023: Keithelmanbi Battalion of IGAR (South) felicitated Thongam Suraj Singh and Mayengbam Bhumika Devi of Moidangpok Mamang Leikai who won silver and gold medals respectively at the 5th Goodwill Open National Championship 2022 held at Shivsagar, Assam.

In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that Keithelmanbi Battalion had undertaken a taekwondo training capsule from October to December 2022 in which a total of 18 young students from Assam Rifles Public School and nearby villages were trained.

Suraj and Bhumika were also part of the capsule.

The training imparted during the capsule played a pivotal role in the performance of the champions.

The hard work, dedication and guidance received from Assam Rifles led to such an outstanding result which will also act as motivation for other local children.

In order to keep them motivated to achieve greater laurels in future a felicitation ceremony was organised by Keithelmanbi Battalion commandant, the PRO added.
