10 found positive during mass testing

Moreh, January 22 2022:
During a COVID-19 mass testing programme conducted on Saturday in Moreh under strict security arrangement by Tengnoupal district police, altogether 10 people including two Myanmarese nationals were found positive.
The mass testing programme under the aegis of Chief Medical officer (CMO) Tengnoupal Dr Kh Gojen Singh was conducted at two places of Moreh and out of 335 people who underwent RAT, 10 were found positive of the viral infection.
Altogether 204 people selling goods on the footpath from near Moreh police station till Indo-Myanmar Friendship Gate No.2 including Myanmar Nepali community underwent RAT and four of them were tested positive.
The positive cases include one Myanmarese woman, two Indian men and one Indian woman.
The test was conducted under the leadership of Dr Ang-dar Maring of sub-district hospital, Moreh.
In another mass testing conducted at Moreh Ward No.6 Moreh Bazar rice dealing area, 114 people underwent RAT and three of them including one Myanmarese citizen tested positive.
The mass testing was conducted under the leadership of district surveillance officer, Tengnoupal Dr Cecil Ahongshangbam.
Meanwhile, three people tested positive for Covid-19 when 17 people were conducted RAT at Eklavya School, Moreh Chikim village and all of them have been isolated by giving necessary medicines.
Those found negative including Myanmarese citizens were issued negative certificates instantly and vacated from the testing venues.
Tengnoupal district police led by additional SP (Ops) O Sukumar, OC Moreh PS Y Anal Kumar and other officers also distributed face masks to commuters apart from helping in smooth conduct of the mass testing programmes.
A reliable source informed that mass testing programme will be conducted every day at sub-district hospital, Moreh.
