Nungba forum rues unpaid honorarium

Imphal, July 21 2024: Nungba Kendra Cit izens' Forum has demanded swift disbursal of the pending honorarium to rationing agents and full release of the allocated rations to Nunba AC residents.

In a release issued July 19 and signed by its convenor Aphuna Gangmei, the Forum lamented that the honorarium for rationing agents has not been disbursed as per the agreed terms since 2021 .

Out of the 1264 quintals of ration sanctioned for Nungba AC, only 948 quintals have been provided in the last two years, resulting in a shortfall in essential supplies for the residents, it further said.

The Forum urged authorities concerned to address "this pressing issue promptly and ensure that the honorarium for rationing agents is paid without further delay".

It also demanded that Nungba AC should be provided the full allocation of 1264 quintals of ration in order to effectively address the people's needs.

The Forum then appealed to the authorities to investigate the matter immediately and take necessary steps to resolve the issue for the welfare of the Nungba residents.
