Intending candidate pledges uplift of Henglep AC

A two-day tour programme of T Michael Lamjathang Haokip, secretary general of Thadou Students' Association, General Headquarters (TSA-GHQ) and intending candidate in the forthcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election, 2022 from 57-Henglep Assembly Constituency came to an end on Friday.
The tour programme team visited Henglep Sub-Division Headquarters and surrounding villages, said a release.
According to the release, the team kick-started their tour from P Sejol village located along the Tipaimukh road with the inspection of sites for implementation of tourism project "Development of Eco-Tourism Destination" under State Plan 2020-21, Tourism Department, Manipur.
Henglep Sub-Divisional Officer Mangte Jonathan Kom and his team and Major Amit Pathak of 36 Assam Rifles, were also present.
The team also inspected the site for construction of Helipad f acility under National Seismic Risk Mitigation Programme (NSRMP) implemented by the Department of Relief & Disaster Management, Manipur.
Lamjathang Haokip attended the closing ceremony of Men's Open Football Tournament and Men-Women Open Volleyball Tournament organised by Najang Youth Club on November 18 as chief guest.
In his speech, Michael Lamjathang explained about his intention of contesting the assembly election from Henglep Assembly Constituency as a people's candidate.
He said that his politics will be bas,ed on 'Dignity of Labour' and the slogan of 'Reach the Unreached' with the motto of 'Redefining Henglep' by turning idea into reality 'Idea for Reality (14R)' and 'I for are'.
He further said that his roots can be traced back to Henglep village and Najang village and therefore will be the right person to represent and develop the most ignored Henglep Sub-Division Headquarters by favouring him while casting vote in the upcoming election.
It is the duty of an elected representative to liaison and act as a good messenger between the people and government, transparently and accurately.
"And, Don't Worry! I'll 100% be your good messenger," the release quoted Michael as saying during the function.
During the tour, Michael Lamjathang visited 10 major villages including Khanpi, Neilien, Phaibong, Najang, Ainujang, Vongmol, Henglep, Thinghijang, Khaopijang and Bungkot village's.He also briefly halted at S Khonom, Dahtum, S Kholian, Tuilumjang, Hemgkom, New Pangsang and Tuilaphai villages where village chiefs, elders, church leaders, and the public appreciated the humble visit of Michael to find out their grievances and necessities.
The release also informed that Michael Lamjathang will submit his two-day tour report on the plight of the people in trie interior Henglep Assembly Constituency and recommendation to the chief minister within 10 days for consideration by the state government.
