RIMS organises health camp at Yurembam

The Department of Community Medicine, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal in association with Yurembam Apunba Club (YAC) organised a health camp under National Medical Council (NMC) Family Adoption Programme in Yurembam Awang Leikai on Saturday.
In a release, RIMS media advisor N Phillip Singh conveyed that Department of Community Medicine associate professor Dr Bijaya Elangbam addressing the programme, stated that the health camp was organised under NMC Family Adoption Programme designed for the students in which one student adopts five numbers of families to follow up on their health issues, while adding that the health camp mutually benefits the public in getting treatment and students in enhancing their learning experience.
On the other hand, YAC general secretary Laishram Helenchandra Singh men tioned that the health camp was organised for the third time by the Department of Community Medicine and it will continue to support the Family Adoption Programme under which RIMS, Imphal doctors carry out door to door visit, it added The release also mentioned that as part of the health camp, facilities for obtaining Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) cards were provided to the people, tree saplings were planted by doctors and students of RIMS, doctors from different departments of medicine, surgery, obstetrics & gynaecology, eye, ENT, dental, orthopaedics, psychiatry and paediatrics treated around 250 patients and medicines were distributed.
