VDF guardians stage sit in protest
demands actualisation of long pending VDF demands

Imphal, July 18 2022: Imphal East District VDF Guardian Association has cautioned of intense agitation if the long pending demands of VDF are not fulfilled at the earliest.

The association also organised a sit-in protest at Green Community Hall near Top Khongnang Makhong, DC Road, Imphal East today against the indifference attitude of the Government towards VDF: Speaking at the occasion, secretary of the IE district VDF Guardian Association, Sagolshem Mina Leima expressed discontentment that the Government has not taken up any concrete measures to actualise the long pending demands of VDF.

The VDF are delivering their duties at par with the police personnel in the State and sometimes they have been shouldered with extra responsibilities but the Government turns a blind eye when it comes to work for their wellbeing, she added.

She also cautioned to take up intense agitation if the current situation persists and no measures are taken to improve the condition of VDF.

With regards to the charter of demands raised by VDF which include formation of VDF Battalion, hike in honorarium, proper service rules for VDF and so on, she appealed to the Government to take up immediate measures to actualise the demands of VDF in the interest of VDF and their families.
