Training held for Churachandpur polling personnel

Churachandpur, January 18 2022:
The first round of training for polling personnel who would be deployed across six assembly constituencies within Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts during the upcoming assembly election commenced from Tuesday at Churachandpur Government College.
On the first day of the training programme which will continue till January 22, about 344 presiding officers (Male) and 345 polling officer-1 (Male) were trained by the master trainers as returning officer (Thanlon and Tipaimukh ACs) Ch Shachi inspected the training.
The training session includes audio-visual demonstration on the duties of the polling personnel and hands-on training on use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
Officials said that special focus was given on the use of Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) that will be used in all the polling booths.
Six Assembly Segments (55-Tipaimukh AC, 56-Thanlon AC, 57-Henglep AC, 58-Churachandpur AC, 59-Saikot AC and 60-Singhat AC) within Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts will go to the polls in the first phase on February 27 .
The total number of electors in these six ACs is 2,21,362 whereas the total number of polling stations within the two districts is 357.Meanwhile, DEO Churachandpur on Monday constituted District Medical Board to examine applications for exemption from election duty on medical ground.
The DEO also separately notified all political parties concerned that Strong Room located at the ground floor of Old DCs office building will be opened at 11AM on Wednesday 19 till completion of AC wise physical sorting of EVMs and WPATs for the ensuing elections to Manipur Legislative Assembly, 2022 .
At the same time, the DEO has also notified that the first randomisation (AC wise assigning/allocation) of EVMs and WPATs in EVM Management Software will be held on Wednesday at DCs Conference Hall at 10.30 am .
