Kangpokpi felicitates Union minister Dr RK Ranjan

Union minister of state for external affairs and education Dr RK Ranjan was accorded a warm welcome at Kangpokpi when the minister visited the town on Tuesday.
Hundreds of Kangpokpi denizens of all ages waited for the union minister as early as 9 am but owing to a series of greetings and meetings from Mao Gate till Mayangkhang before reaching Kangpokpi town, the Union minister and his team could not reach Kangpokpi on time.
On his arrival, local MLA Nemcha Kipgen greeted the union minister and his team and served them lunch before visiting district COVID-19 Vaccination Centre at Inspection Bungalow, Kangpokpi.
After inspecting the Vaccination Centre, RK Ranjan along with BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi, ministers and MLAs including Nemcha handed over protective gears provided by the local MLA to the District Vaccination manager in the presence of CMO Kangpokpi, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kangpokpi and DSO Kangpokpi.
Later, the union minister was warmly welcomed by the people of Kangpokpi lender the aegis of BJP Kangpokpi Mahdal during a blessing ceremony at Mandop community hall of Kangpokpi Ward No 11.On the sidelines of the blessing ceremony, pension cards were handed over to eligible senior citizens by the union minister and other dignitaries.
Attired in Thadou traditional waistcoat, Dr Ranjan appreciated the people of Kangpokpi for their love and support while conveying gratitude to Prime Minister for appointing him as a union minister.
"It was all because of the love and concern of Prime Minister that I was appointed as the Union minister to fulfil the commitment, vision, and people-oriented goals of the BJP towards its people in Manipur", he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Nemcha Kipgen noted that induction of two cabinet ministers and three ministers of state from the North East in the Union cabinet is the highest ever representation from the region so far and this testifies that inclusivity and diversity are the indispensable ethos of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
While drawing the attention of Dr Ranjan, Nemcha said that the commitment of the Union minister in imparting knowledge in the academic world had an enormous impact in the state of Manipur.
The MLA also pointed out that institutionalization of higher education with separate hostels for boys and girls in Kangpokpi has always been a dream.
Later, a memorandum submitted by Kangpokpi Town Committee chairman Lunseh Kipgen to the union minister on behalf of the people of Kangpokpi urged the minister to establish a government college and construct Tribal Boys and Girls' Hostels at the district headquarters.
The event was also attended by BJP general secretary (oraganisation) and in-charge of Manipur and Nagaland Abhay Kumar Giri, ADC Sadar Hills caretaker chairman Haokholal Hangshing, DC (Kangpokpi) Somorjit Salam, SP Karthik Malladi, BJP Sadar Hills president Thangjamang Kipgen, BJP Kangpokpi Mandal president Tingnei Lhouvum and various other BJP leaders and CSOs of Kangpokpi.
