Decennial celebration of JMC held

Noney, July 16 2024: The decennial celebration cum felicitation programme of Jadonang Memorial College (JMC) was held on Tuesday at its campus in Longmai Part -3, Noney district headquarters.

Longmai Village Authority chairman Kasaigai Gangmei, Longmai Students' Union (LSU) president Jangonglung Gangmei and Longmai village 'khunpu' Keinesong Gonmei attended the event as chief guest, functionalpresident and guest of honour respectively.

During the programme, Langongliu Gonmei, a student of JMC who topped BA Honours 6th semester exam-2024 of Manipur University in sociology, was felicitated.

She hails from Rangkhung Part-1 village.

Jadonang Memorial College principal Khuigai Kamei said the College was established initially by a Governing Body called Jadonang Memorial Educational Society, subsequently approved by the Government of Manipur and affiliated to Manipur University in the year 2019 .

The college has been upgraded to a government-aided college in 2021.Moreover, Jadonang Memorial College also opened IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) study centre in the year 2016, he said, expressing that the centre is an opportunity for employees, businessmen and housewives to pursue further formal education.

The IGNOU study centre at JMC offers BPP, BDP courses leading to BA (Bachelor Degree) and Master courses.

As part of the decennial celebration, gifts and mementoes were presented to all the pioneer leaders and donors of the college, while a brief on college history and presentation of songs by guest singer Anutam Riamroi were the other highlights of the event.
