Hiyanglam MLA Dr Y Radheshyam on Friday expressed confidence that a popular government may.
soon be formed in the state, which he said would help resolve the ongoing crisis that has gripped the state for over two years.
Attending as chief guest at the second foundation day of Heirok Apunba Club held at Heirok Part II, Dr Radheshyam said that the current political instability has caused uncertainty.

He asserted that public representatives have been pressing central leaders for the installation of a popular government and expressed hope that it will soon become a reality, noting positive responses from the Centre.

He said that a government formed under new leadership would play a key role in resolving the crisis and reviving the state's economy.
The MLAs working together towards this goal are in harmony, he added.
Heirok MLA Thokchom Radheshyam, attending as guest of honour, said that Heirok Apunba Club, a conglomerate of 24 local clubs formed under the aegis of Meira Paibi Lups, was established to support families affected by the crisis.
He noted the club's role in providing relief not just in Heirok but also across the valley districts.
He said that selfish agendas never benefit society and called for unity and mutual support.
Kshetrigao MLA Sheikh 'Noorul Hassan, also speaking at the event, stressed the importance of mutual respect and non-discrimination in building peace and fostering development.
He said that efforts are underway to bring about a stable government and called for public cooperation to restore normalcy, adding that the state's talent pool can be a key to progress if, properly utilised.
The function, presided over by Heirok Apunba Club president Wahengbam Jiban, was also attended by Heirok Municipal Council chairperson Laishram Nunshisana as guest of honour.
Floral tributes were paid to the club's founder, late Laishram Manindra.
Students who excelled in the HSLCE and HSE 2025 examinations, athletes who brought laurels at national and international events, new PhD scholars, doctors and medical students were felicitated on the occasion.
