Minister Dingo vows facelift of SW Department

Social Welfare minister Heikham Dingo Singh along with Health & IPR minister Sapam Ranjan Singh inaugurated 14 newly constructed Anganwadi centres in Konthoujam Assembly constituency during a function held at Konthoujam Kangjeibung community hall on Sunday.
Speaking as the chief guest, minister Dingo maintained that the Social Welfare Department has been taking care of people right from the stage when they are in the womb of their mothers till they attain old age.
While informing that shortcomings have been noticed in the department, he, however, affirmed that as the minister in-charge of Social Welfare, he will try his best to redress them on priority basis.
The minister also assured of clearing the outstanding dues pending in the department, including salaries and honorarium of the Anganwadi workers and helpers.
He said that suggestions and cooperation of the officers and employees is very much needed to make Social Welfare department the best amongst the Other departments, while assuring to try his level best to uplift the department during his tenure.
Presiding over the function, minister Dr Sapam Ranjan said that the health department and social welfare department are closely inter-related, while stressing the need for mutual understanding and cooperation between two departments.
Nutritional care of the children, mother And their wellbeing Are other important areas of the departments which need mutual coordination, he added.
Dr Ranjan continued that CMHT and Chief Minister's Health for All schemes have been introduced with the objective to take care of the public health in general, particularly the needy people.
As part of ensuring hy giene, steps are underway to distribute sanitary pads at schools.
He then informed that a proposal for increasing the budget for health care sector of the state has been tabled during the all India Health Conference, which recently concluded in Gujarat.
The health minister also urged for joint support towards the government's War on Drugs campaign, stating that the campaign is being taken up to save the young people especially students from the influence of drugs.
Social Welfare director Ng Uttam Singh, joint director Bantee Konthoujam, DPO Ksh Ragini Devi; CDPO, Imphal West-1, Lamsang S Bimola Devi and Konthoujam Sector supervisor AK Romika Devi also shared the dais as guests of honour and special guests.
Officials and staff of Social Welfare Department, Anganwadi workers and helpers were , also present during the inaugural function.
