Lectures, flag rallies, drill conducted under HCT

29 Bn BSF and 143 Bn CRPF organised Har Ghar Thanga Campaign as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava at BSF Koirengei Campus and Langol Game Village and Meitei Langol areas respectively on Saturday.
A BSF release informed that as a part of the campaign, 'Prabhat Pheri' was carried out in villages near the BSF Koirengei camp by BSF officers, troops, family members, school children and locals.
National flags were also distributed to all school children and villagers and encouraged and motivated to hoist the National Flag at their residential premises and offices to nurture the spirit of nationalism amongst the citizens.
On the other-hand, 143 Bn CRPF informed that the cam paign led by its officers and personnel was organised at the adjoining areas of Game Village and Meitei Langol.
As part of the campaign, na -tional flags were distributed to the villagers and encouraged to the same at their homes and office premises from August 13 to 15 .
To commemorate 'Har Ghar Thanga' (HGT) campaign, Shangshak Battalion of IGAR (South) organised an awareness lectures on Indian National Flag at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Ramva, Sakpao, Singcha and Maku villages on Saturday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the event was undertaken to inculcate the true spirit of nationalism and to make the students understand the importance of the national flag.
The students were organised as per age group and marched peacefully guided by NCC cadets and teachers of the vidyalaya from Tushar village to JNV.
A total of 55 students, 13 teachers and 11 NCC cadets and villagers attended the event.
The students and villagers were presented with small national flags and school banner.
Meanwhile, Somsai Battalion conducted flag march with national flag at Tusom Christian village, Awankasom and Kharasom of Ukhrul district on Saturday.
Somsai Battalion has been conducting drill training for NCC cadets of St Joseph College as part of "Har Ghar Thanga" under "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" initiative at Somsai in Ukhrul district since August 1, the PRO said, adding that the initiative is aimed at invoking the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of youngsters and to promote them to join Indian Armed Forces.
Keithelmanbi Battalion also organised a lecture on nationalism for the students of Senior High School, Lilong in Thoubal district on Saturday while Tengnoupal Battalion organised a similar event at Kampang Khunao village in Tengnoupal district to commemorate 75 years of Independence.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that national flags were distributed to the village heads of 9 neighbouring villages, stationery items to the children and sweets to all the villagers during the event.
Tengnoupal Battalion also organised an event under the theme of Har Ghar Thanga at Kwatha village in Tengnoupal district on Saturday during which national flags were distributed to the villagers followed by a motivational speech by the officers.
