Imphal, October 12 2024:
All Community Development Organisation, Moreh (ACODOM) has raised strong objection to the demand for a separate administration or Kukiland.
Speaking at the 17th foundation day of the Organisation at Lamding EEO Hall in Thoubal district on Saturday, ACODOM president Thangjam Budha asserted the current crisis is an attack on indigenous Meetei people by Kuki narco-terrorists in pursuit of their Kukiland dream.
While contending that there would be no acceptance to a separate state or administration, Budha urged the government to resolve the ongoing crisis at the soonest and facilitate safe return of the displaced residents to their homes.
He also highlighted the role of CoPMeV, an organisation formed by various civil society organisations (CSOs) and displaced people from Moreh, in supporting the victims.
The celebration, attended by displaced people from Moreh currently residing in relief camps, was held with Committee on Protection of Meetei Victims, Moreh (CoPMeV) chairman Leishangthem Inaocha, Thangjam Budha, and Nupi Chaokhat Lamjing Lup, Moreh advisor Yumnam Jotila as the presidium members.
In his address, Leishangthem Inaocha called on the internally displaced persons to remain united and sustain the movement for their resettlement.
He commended ACODOM's contributions to residents of the border town and announced that the organisation has decided to put on hold its regular activities to fully support the resettlement efforts.
