Counselling session held, aid extended

Keithelmanbi Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a career counselling session for students of Pinnacle Academy, Lilong Kaleikhong in Thoubal district on Saturday.
Informing that the session was attended by all students and teachers of the Pinnacle Academy, PRO IGAR (S) said in a statement that it provided an opportunity to interact with students and motivate them towards various career opportunities.
The children were also guided about the various entrance exams for Sainik School, Indian Military Academy and National Defence Academy (NDA) enrolment.
Meawnhile, Phundrei Battalion of Assam Rifles of IGAR (S) provided sports and educational aid to Girl Child Home, Wabagai in Kakching district on Sunday.
In another release, the PRO said that the institution is home to 50 girl child from 6 to 17 years of age whose families are not able to financially look after them.
In a small feast organised by the Assam Rifles on the occasion of Cheiraoba festival, sports items and educational items were distributed to improve the existing infrastructure of the Child Home.
The Girl Child Home authorities and children applauded the effort of Assam Rifles for such gesture which would also help in strengthening the co-operation and synergy with locals, the PRO added.
