Candidate aspirant vows uplift of Saikot AC

An intending candidate for the upcoming state assembly elections from Saikot AC, Dr George T Haokip said that majority of the people want change in electing their representative and stated that there will be no place for money and muscle power in the upcoming 2022 elections.
Dr George made this statement while inaugurating a one-day seminar and 7-a-side Football Tournament at Monnaphai playground in Dampi area within Saikot AC of Churachandpur district.
As the chief guest, he stated that the 2022 assembly election will be crucial and the earlier trend of using money and muscle power to lure or force the voters will not reap fruit.
Dr George said Saikot AC is one of the most neglected areas for the past many years even though it is situated within town area.
"But after 2022 election is" declared, various development projects will be launched and priority will be given in the held of communication and transportation as many road within the constituency are still left without blacktopping," he said.
The intending candidate also assured that if elected, he will construct Saikot Guest House in Imphal, which will render free accommodation for people of the constituency while visiting the state capital to avail medical service or any other purposes.
It is worth mentioning that Dr George Haokip has visited more than 250 villages out of about 300 villages in Saikot AC and conducted campaigns for the forthcoming assembly elections.
The function was also attended by KOMREM Union president Lalkhomang Serto and Maojang village chief Tongkhojang Haokip as functional president and guest of honour respectively.
Besides, Komrem Students' Union, Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) Samulamlan Block and various chiefs also attended the functioning as special invitees.
