Inferno destroys tea hotel at Khumji Bazar

Noney, June 08 2022:
A tea hotel opened at Khumji Bazar under Noney police station in Noney district has been completely burnt on Tuesday around 11.30 pm in a fire incident, cause of which remains unknown.
However, the adjacent house was saved as locals and a team of Noney police station rushed in and managed to put out the blaze.
There was no report of casualty but properties worth lakhs of rupees are estimated to have been destroyed by the fire.
The owner (landlord) of the house, where the hotel was set up, has been identified as Kataluiba (70) son of Bukusingba of Nungtek Part -1 village and the hotel operator as Th Khuangam (40 yrs) son of Th Lungnirei of Khumji Part -2 (Lukhambi), both in Noney district.
Meanwhile, Noney district denizens reit erated demand to the state government to set up a fire brigade at Noney District HQ to overcome such eventualities in the future.
