Imphal, January 07 2022:
While calling to stop making remark that the state lacks resources, BJP Kisan Morcha Manipur Pradesh vice president and Phungyar AC intending candidate Ningreingam Kashung has said that the economy of state could be significantly enhanced when the existing vast arable lands and paddy fields are utilised properly and in the right way.
When suitable seasonal crops are planted on the vast paddy fields and arable lands throughout the year, let us see whether Manipur lacks resources or not, Ningreingam Kashung said during a one-day awareness cum training programme on scientific rearing of pig and fish organised by Mapithel New Gen Farmers' Club on Friday at Phalang village under Phungyar AC.
Addressing the farmers present during the programme sponsored by him, Ningreingam said that it is a dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to improve economy of farmers but it is questionable whether the PM's dream could be realised when one looks at the present conditions of farmers in the state.
It is wrong for the leaders and people to say that the state lacks resources, he reiterated, while adding that proper and wise use of the existing vast fertile arable lands would help in improving economy of the state.
Many areas in Phungyar AC are suitable for horticulture and they could be significantly developed if more emphasis is given to horticulture and allied activities, he said, adding that the awareness programme was conducted with the idea of improving economy of people of Phungyar.
He also said that Phungyar AC has many attractive tourist sites and necessary help will be extended if people are interested in developing tourist destination sites.
Around 100 farmers from seven villages of Phungyar AC took part in the training programme.
