AR holds medical camp, outreach session

Assam Rifles conducted a dual outreach initiative in Chandel district, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to community welfare in remote border regions, informed PRO IGAR (S) in a release.
According to the PRO, on Tuesday, a medical camp was organised at Molcham village, followed by an informative lecture on government schemes at Kovang village on Wednesday.
The medical camp at Molcham village aimed to enhance healthcare access for the local community.
During the camp, medical personnel treated 97 residents, including 47 women and 27 children.
The services provided included general consultations, health checkups, and treatments for common ailments.
Preventive care focused on maternal and child health, hygiene, and nutrition awareness was also emphasised; it informed.
The PRO also informed that an interactive lecture was held at Kovang village aimed at empowering the locals with information about various government schemes.
Attended by 36 villagers, particularly youth, the session provided valuable insights into programmes related to health, agriculture, education, and entrepreneurship.
Topics discussed included the Ayushman Bharat Yojana for healthcare access, Swachh Bharat Mission for sanitation improvements, and skill development programmes designed to support young entrepreneurs in establishing small businesses.
The lecture concluded with participants feeling more informed and prepared to access these schemes, contributing to their socio-economic uplift, it added.
