Four KYKL, one URF cadre arrested

Security forces have arrested four cadres of the proscribed KYKL and a cadre of URF from different locations during operations conducted from August 4 and 5 .
According to a release issued by Manipur Police Control Room, two KYKL cadres identified as Elangbam Rajen Singh (47) and Ningthoujam Ibomcha Singh (53) were arrested from Keirak Khongnang Makhong in Kakching district on Monday on the charge of collecting extortion money from the public of Hiyanglam and Sekmaijin.
Two mobile phones along with a four wheeler were recovered from their possession, it added.
Further, one active cadre of United Revolutionary Front (URF) identified as Budha Meitei alias Daimal (38) was arrested from Salungpham Bazar under Thoubal district on Monday along with one pistol and magazine, a two wheeler, extortion demand letter, three sim cards and two mobile phones, the release informed, adding that Budha was involved in extortion demands from employees, brick farms, schools, colleges and public in Thoubal district.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, a team of Manipur police rounded up two KYKL cadres identified as Maibam Roshan Singh alias Kishan (38) and Maibam Naocha Singh (36) for their involvement in kidnapping, ransom and extortions.
Four mobile handsets, one wallet, one aadhaar card, a four wheeler and Rs 11,950 cash have also been recovered from the duo, the release informed.
