Imphal, August 04 2024:
Joint Action Committee-Education (S) MTS Written Test Completed 2016-18 Batch has cautioned of launching indefinite hunger strike from August 7 if the state government fails to declare results of the written test for recruitment of 413 Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) posts conducted by the Directorate of Education (S) by August 6 .
In a press meet at Manipur Press Club on Sunday, JAC president S Gambhir said that after Directorate of Education (S) issued a notification in 2016-18 for recruitment of 413 MTS posts, the usual process followed and written test conducted.
However, the results of the test have been not declared till date, raising suspicions of some hidden agenda.
He further said that despite seeking appointments with the CM for 6-7 years, the response has always been negative which is basically ignoring the plight of the 26,000 candidates.
As such, he demanded alternative arrangements for 50 per cent of the candidates who are now age barred.
Gambhir continued that the response of Education minister Th Basanta Kumar with regard to the question raised by Sugnu AC MLA Ranjit during the session of the Assembly on August 2, was dissatisfactory.
Thus, he demanded the Education minister to declare the results by August 6 failing which indefinite hunger strike will be launched from next day onwards.
