Imphal, February 04 2025: Three Manipuris have been selected to receive the Bharat Ratna Dr API Abdul Kalam National Award 2025 for their exceptional contributions to social, educational and cultural sectors, particularly in uplift of the marginalised communities.

The award instituted by the Babu Jagjivan Ram Kala Sanskriti and Sahitya Akademi, will be conferred upon social worker Dr Khoirom Tokyo Meetei of Pishumthong Oinam Leikai in Imphal West, Chingkham Saratchandra of Wangoi Makha Leikai in Imphal West and social worker Khwairakpam Nilbir of Ithing Mamang Leikai in Bishnupur.

The awards will be presented during the 9th Global Youth Image Conference and Award Ceremony on February 16 in Panjim, Goa.
