Imphal, October 03 2024: The three-day literature promotion tour to Durgapur in West Bengal organised by Sahitya Thoupang Lup (SATHOU Lup) from September 29 to October 1 concluded and 16 member delegates returned to Imphal.

In a release, SATHOU Lup reminded that Bangla-Manipuri Poetry Festival was jointly organised by SATHOU Lup, Tristoop Literary Magazine and Shilpa O Sahitya Magazine as a part of International Translation day at Durgapur on September 30 with the attendance of Bengali poet Gautam Guha Roy, poet Dilip Mayengbam and Sahitya Akademi Awardee Saratchand Thiyam.

A book of Manipuri poems translated to English titled 'Harmony' and Manipuri poems written by Dilip Mayengbam and translated into Bangla by N Ranjita Sarkar titled 'Shreshta Kavita' were released as a part of the programme.

Thiyam Ibochoubi National Award presented biennially by SATHOU Lup in connection with International Translation Day was conferred to Bengal poet, translator and critic Bra-jaumar Sarkar.

The award included Rs 10,000 cash, citation and stole, it added.
