Imphal, July 01 2022:
Iputhou Naothingkhong Pakhangba Managing Committee, Thangmeiband has appealed to the government for taking up necessary steps to provide an approach road to the paddy land of the committee measuring 0.8650 hectares in Meetei Langol area.
Addressing a press meet at Manipur Press Club here on Friday, Committee secretary M Shyamananda said that the document of the paddy land is in the name of Sebayat and co-owned by five localities of Thangmeiband.
Unfortunately, human settlement in and around the paddy land from 2018 to 2021 have cut off the paddy land of the committee.
They are refusing to spare the approach road despite multiple requests and as a result, the paddy land has been lying unutilised for the past few years.
Further stating that the Committee had submitted complaint letters to the DC and the SP Imphal West as well as the SDO concerned but no measures have been taken up till date, he said a public meeting held on Friday also reiterated the demand for the government to make arrangement for an approach road before the situation turns violent.
He then drew the attention of the chief minister and officials concerned in this regard.
