Petroleum transporters cease service

Imphal, July 31 2024:
Petroleum transporters have decided to go ahead with its announcement to launch steering off agitation from August 1 (Thursday) against unbearable monetary demand served to petroleum tankers operating on NH-37 .
After the meeting with chief secretary Vineet Joshi late Tuesday evening yielded no result, petroleum transporters took part in the security meet presided by DIG Range-Ill on Wednesday also attended by top officials of CRPF.
The same meeting also ended without any positive outcome.
Representatives of Consortium of Manipur Petroleum Product Fraternity produced both the final SOP of the government and the memorandum submitted to Prime Minister on July 11 for discussion in the meeting wherein security officials appealed transporters to withdraw the decision to cease service while assuring to extend all possible help.
However, no understanding could be reached and accordingly transporters declared to begin cease service from Thursday as announced earlier.
