CPI launches 'Save Manipur, Save Humanity' campaign

CPI Thoubal Council organised a campaign under the banner, 'Save Manipur, Save Humanity' at Tentha multiplex hall on Thursday.
Launch event of the campaign participated by around 200 delegates from Thoubal and Kakching districts was held with CPI National Council Control Commission member Dr M Nara, veteran member Y Dhananjoy, Lilong Council leader Dr Baddar Uddin, state secretary L Thoiren, former state secretary L Sotinkumar and Manipur Nupi Marup president M Sakhi as presidium members.
Speaking at the event, L Thoiren asserted that the party along with the people had been collectively fighting the threat posed to the integrity of Manipur since May 3, 2023.The ongoing violence is about to complete 10 months due to inaction of the government and the violence is not an easy one, he said, adding that it would not be good for anyone to prolong the violence.
In his address, L Sotinkumar alleged that instead of trying to protect lives and properties of the people, the incumbent government is trying to fan chaos in the state while totally sidelining democracy and Constitution.
He also expressed suspicion of a secret agenda to break apart Manipur.
According to Dr M Nara, CPI has been striving to save Manipur and its people and the party will always shoulder the responsibility of protecting the people and the land.
He also said that 'Save Manipur, Save Humanity' campaign will continue in different parts of the state.
