NFR conducts speed trial run

Noney, August 28 2022:
The speed trial run of Jiribam-Imphal New Broad Gauge Railway Line Project with the help of Oscillation Monitoring System (QMS) in the section between Vangaichungpao station in Tamenglong district and Khongsang station in Noney district was successfully conducted on Sunday.
The speed trial run started from Vangaichungpao station at 11:46 am and the train reached Khongsang station at 12:18 pm before returning from Khongsang station at 2:57 pm and reaching Vangaichungpao station at 3:26 pm.
The time taken during onward journey was 32 minutes and during return journey, it was 29 minutes.
The maximum speed attained in both the directions was 115 kmph.
The total distance from Vangaichungpao to Khongsang is about 44 km, which consists of 20 tunnels (almost 70 per cent of the total length), five major bridges and four stations, excluding Vangaichungpao station, which was already commissioned in 2017.Deputy chief engineer-I & II/JRBM and 4 AXENs was present during the speed trial run.
The speed trial run was done for further improvement of the running track, in connection with CRS inspection for commissioning the section from Vangaichungpao to Khongsang, which is likely in the month of September.
