Bishnupur, August 27 2022:
Members of Development & Protection United Voluntary Organisation (DPUVO), Nambol and Nambol Apunba Nupi Lup (NANL) on Saturday locked the office of Nambol Higher Secondary School principal Laishram Badal Kumar to make it clear that he is no longer welcome in the school and he should agree to his transfer as demanded by the people of Nambol.
It may be mentioned that Badal Kumar had obtained a stay order from the Court on August 10 after a transfer order was issued for him on July 7.A team of DPUVO president T Khaba Khuman, working president K Suleshor, general secretary Th Lamjingba, treasurer Y Yelhounaba, NANL advisor Ch Ibechaobi and secretary L Premila along with others arrived at the school and after calling out principal L Badal Kumar from his office locked it up and advised him to join at his new place of posting as people of Nambol do not want him for not doing anything for development of the school.
During the visit to the school, the DPUVO and NANL members found that roofs of chemistry and biology rooms were leaking, lack of infrastructure including proper library, no water in toilets, cracks on walls and floor, non-repairing of damaged electric switches, etc.
Speaking on the sidelines, general secretary Th Lamjingba informed that DPUVO and NANL have for years demanding transfer of L Badal Kumar and a transfer order was finally issued by the authorities concerned which he opposed by approaching the Court.
Lamjingba alleged that instead of taking care of infrastructural needs of the school Badal Kumar renovated his office with tiles and has no plans for betterment of the school.
Moreover, due to his interruptions and objections teachers of the school have not received their pay for two months, the secretary alleged.
He used to deduct some amount as percentage from the teachers who wanted to withdraw their arrears and there are complaints against him of taking extra money for admission as well, Lamjingba claimed, while further demanding that the Education Department must appoint a new principal for the school by September 2 .
