109 Bn CRPF distributes water storage tanks

109 BN CRPF of IGP Manipur and Nagaland sector on Thursday conducted a civig action programme during which 25 water storage tanks were distributed to villagers of Liangmai Taphou under Senapati district with an objective to extend a friendly and helping hand to the residents.
A release by deputy commandant Parvinder Kaur said the distribution event was attended by 109 Bn commandant Bal Krishna Ram as chief guest in the presence of village chairman DM Widoubou, Sen apati police station SHO Thejii, SDSA president and secretary, battalion's assistant commandants Alex Kophom and A Visapunii and other officials.
In his speech, Commandant Bal Krishna said: "CRPF has always stood with the residents of Manipur in general and Mong-sangei in particular in harbouring a tranquil society which enables all to be a part of a developing, prosperous society".
He further emphasised on the importance of water storage tanks in day-to-day life.
Demographic compulsions have forced mankind to innovate and adapt to changing circumstances.
"In this regard, 109 Bn CRPF stands with brethren of Manipur in acknowledging the need of water storage tanks to collect, store and preserve rain water as a part of rain water harvesting to be used when in need, the commandant said.
