AR units hold yoga session, plant saplings, extend aid

As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav campaign, 44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector AR/IGAR (E) organised a Yoga session for children at Government Junior High School, Azuiram on Wednesday.
In a release, PIB Defence informed that 44 Assam Rifles has taken the initiative to teach children remain healthy through Yoga exercises and to make people especially school going children aware about benefits of Yoga.
Keeping the present situation in mind the Yoga session was conducted ensuring all COVID-19 safety norms, the release said, and assured that its Yoga instructors shall be visiting many other schools in the district to teach and practice Yoga with the school children.
Meanwhile, Kakching Battalion of 28 Sector IGAR (South) conducted tree plantation drive in Kakching district on Thursday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the tree plantation drive conducted with an aim to control the global warming and make the environment pollution free was participated by ex-servicemen and children of Keirak, Wabagai and Cheirao Ching Area.
Various saplings were also planted by representatives of Assam Rifles, Kakching Forest department and Wabagai Youth club, it added.
On the other-hand, Khoupum Battalion of IGAR (South) distributed ration and essential commodities to villagers of Toringpong village of Khoupum Valley in Noney district on Thursday.
Total of 40 households of Toringpong village of Khou-pum Valley were benefitted, informed another release issued by PRO IGAR (S) .
